Conversation, Or Not

Take it from someone with experience, when you are talking to someone, no matter how interesting you think you are, and they mutter uh-huh a couple of times and then throw in a hmm, they are no longer listening to a word you are saying. They throw in the sound effects to make you think you are involved in a conversation  when actually you might as well be talking to a bug.
