If I Could Hear What You're Thinking

In the beginning it is thought we were given the ability to speak and eventually the ability to carry on a conversation so as to let folks know what was on our little minds. However, somewhere along the way, speech became more of a method of hiding or disguising what was really on our mind. Can you imagine us in a world where, from the beginning, we were given the ability to read each other's thoughts instead of having to verbally download an edited version of our thoughts? We probably wouldn't be as happy, but boy it sure would be quiet.
