My New Song, My Only Song

Well, I've applied for Copy Rights to my very own song and am pretty excited about finding someone that can actually sing to sing it for me. The Name of the song is A Scattering Of Memories, which is also the title of my third book coming out after the first of the year. We'll see what happens. Meanwhile here are the lyrics, let me know what you think.
Scattering Of Memories
By Terry Beck
I remember Red Rover, Hide And Seek and Simon Says
We played in cardboard boxes, built tents on the clothes line
We fought to be King of The Mountain, built castles in the sand,
Built forts, tree houses and caves in the ground.
Now that I'm living in the Autumn of my life
So many things done and still so much to do
My needs are simpler and I'll be okay
Just don't take my memories away.
We ran barefoot and carefree with nothing to fear
'cept goathead stickers, red ants beds and shadows in the dark.
I Remember my first dog and the day he was lost,
First bike, first gun and learning how much it all cost.
We wore Flat Tops, Penny Loafers and white Levi jeans
I remember my first car, eight track tapes, making the Drag,
Sitting at the Dairy Maid watching the day go by,
Drinking shakes, eating greasy burgers and bar b q fries
Now that I'm living in the Autumn of my life
So many things done and still so much to do
My needs are simpler and I'll be okay
Just don't take my memories away.
Friday night football and all the pretty girls
All dressed up, wearing flowers, ribbons and curls.
I remember Teen Timers, Victory Dances and Lady's Choice,
First kiss, first love and my first broken heart.
We danced to songs on the Juke Box
And the music of The Midnite Riders
We cried the day The Music died,
We saw Fire & Rain with Sweet Baby James
Now that I'm living in the Autumn of my life
So many things done and still so much to do
My needs are simpler and I'll be okay
Just don't take my memories away.
I remember leaving home, the hugs and kisses of Mom.
The handshake and hidden tears of Dad.
I remember the loneliness of change
And the challenges of becoming a man
I remember the death of a man called Kennedy
And the loss of another man called King
Too many wars, where some fought and some refused
And some of both never came home
Now that I'm living in the Autumn of my life
So many things done and still so much to do
My needs are simpler and I'll be okay
Just don't take my memories away.
I remember meeting my true love and asking her to be my wife
We raised two daughters with pigtails and ponytails, the joy of our life
Weebles, Cabbage Patch Dolls, Hopscotch and Jump Rope
And coming home to the snaggletooth smiles, bear hugs and butterfly kisses.
The years passed too fast and our girls were gone
They were Blessed with kids of their own.
Shopkins, T- Ball, XBox and Wii.
No distractions, nothing but time, we'll try to do better the second time.
Now that I'm living in the Autumn of my life
So many things done and still so much to do
My needs are simpler and I'll be okay
Just don't take my memories,
Don't take my memories away.
