Words For The Day - 1/5/15

As the man of the Beck household, it was my responsibility to support and provide for my family. For forty years on the railroad I traveled all over the state of Texas and the country, I was on call twenty-four hours a day seven days a week, I worked as many overtime hours as I did regular hours, and in all those years I never turned down a call to come to work. I was on the go so much of the time all I had to do was ask and Amber would take care of the things I couldn't get to around the house. Now, a little worn and a lot older, I sit and think back for a moment and allow my pride for what I have done to filter forward. Then, as I sit in my easy chair, I turn and  see my sweet Amber cleaning up the kitchen and it hits me like a ton of rocks, Amber has never asked me to do the dishes.....
