It's Not As Cold As It Used To Be
As we stroll from Thanksgiving toward Christmas and then on to a new year, we feel the cold breezes of early Winter and still call them refreshing because the memory of our hot and dry Summer still lingers as if it were yesterday. The warmth we feel this time of the year comes from the smiles of those who decorate and those admiring souls that appreciate their efforts. We feel the warmth of giving and seeing the young and the not so young smiling faces as they remove the wrapping from the gifts, we now enjoy the giving almost as much as we once enjoyed the receiving. As for me, there is nothing that could top the memory of backing up close to an open stove or fire in my new blue jeans, after coming in from the bitter cold, and standing there until I had to walk away stiff legged to keep the hot denim jeans from touching the back of my legs. It doesn't seem to get that cold any more.
