A. Y. (Bud) McPherson

A. Y. (Bud) McPherson was a railroader's railroader. In his many years with the proud old Santa Fe Railroad he worked as a brakeman, engine foreman and conductor on both freight and passenger trains. No matter what position he was working, he worked the job with pride and won the respect of all those that worked with him. He was a man with religion, honor and a deep love for his family. It is with great pride I can say Bud was my father in law.

Like most "old head" conductors of his time, Bud didn't think anything about giving his engineer a break and running the engine for a while.
