100 Degrees

Well, we still haven't hit 100 degrees but they have been saying we might this week. That got me to thinking about my younger days in Brownwood. I can remember the radio station would always have a contest to see who would guess the closest time to when we hit our first 100 degree day. But, my favorite was when the movie theater, the Bowie, downtown would sit a 300 pound block of ice on the sidewalk out in front of the theater and whoever guessed when it would become completely melted would win the prize.
