And I Drive
Well I rise from my favorite chair using more energy than it
should. I put on my most comfortable boots, my favorite jacket and take the
keys to my old red pickup off the hook. I step outside and look toward the lake
and then to the hills covered with cedars, mesquites and oaks of several kinds.
I then take a deep breath of the soothing country air with nothing in
particular in mind. I then stroll over to my old pickup, insert the key and it cranks
as it always does. I sit for a moment, listening to the same ol' radio station
, trying to decide which direction will I go today and how far will I go and
then put I place the gear into Drive.
