Happiness Within

We sat out back under the trees for a while today. I admitted some things I swore I never would. I finally understood words and thoughts shared half a lifetime ago and wondered why it took me so long. I laughed at things that used to bring tears and cried a little because of the happiness within me. It was good to see them all and share again the warmth of our old familiar sun. Then a gust of wind touched my soul, I opened my eyes as Cae jumped from my lap and then I smiled and felt rested after my trip.
