In A Younger Day
In a younger day a smile might brighten the room, a tear may roll down the contour of a face, a few neighbor kids still scurry through the chill of a winter's evening while others back against the hearth sharing the familiar warmth of a flickering fire. The jovial chatter of the kids bounces from room to room competing with the television, radio and the clatter of jeans drying in the dryer, brings pause and a wish for a temporary silence. While in a later day we sit in silence wishing for the sounds of yesterday. There had been so many possibilities, so many wishes made, so much potential shared by so many of us. We look around, we listen and feel the emotions and spirits of yesterday as they brush by the senses of our soul. We are always together, we are never alone.
