When Blood Wasn't Red

The good ol' days.  That's me in the cap holding my younger brother along with my loving cousins.

This is not the world I used to know. In yesterday's world you had to use your imagination when two people made love in a movie. There didn't have to be much blood to know that the hero or villain was hurt bad or worse and the blood wasn't red. We read about yesterday's wars in the news paper and played Hide -and-Seek in the dark, we didn't watch the war live on TV or imitate them in video games. The world I used to know spent more time developing affordable cures than they did making a profit or worrying about hurting someone's feelings. That was the world I used to know and I cherish the memories, but my life now resides in today's world, the world of instant knowledge and no secrets, and this is the world that holds all I love. This world's potential is limitless and my hope is that we use that precious power to make our children's world a place where blood doesn't have to be red and Hide-and- Seek can still be fun.
