A GATHERING OF WORDS - I'VE BEEN THINKIN'
by Terry Beck

The second book in the "A Gathering of Words" series
---
When we last caught up with Texas boy Terry Beck in his book A Train of Thought, he had retired from a 40-year career with the glorious Santa Fe Railroad.

His new book I've Been Thinkin' confirms his family's greatest fear: He doesn't have enough to do! All this extra time on his hands has resulted in a lot of excess thinking as evidenced by topics ranging from rock crushers, hitchhiking, Stage 1 water restrictions, the Rifleman and more.

In I've Been Thinkin', Terry has captured some of the results of all that extra thought time in a new collection of stories and essays, some humorous, some reflective, and all guaranteed to resonate with anyone who occasionally finds their own thoughts turning to the "thens and nows" of life.

I've Been Thinkin' is published by Park Cities Publishing in Dallas, Texas.

About the Author:

Retired railroader and veteran storyteller Terry Beck hails from Brownwood, Texas, and has spent a whole lotta years being fascinated by the day-to-day activities and experiences that life brings our way. Terry, along with wife Amber, and the ever-faithful Beaux Bo live on the shores of Lake Merritt in Mills County, Texas. He fits in his storytelling and writing around fishing, doting on Amber, their daughters Shanon and Shaye, and some mighty cute grandkids, Cole, Emily and Abbie. It’s a good life. He is currently working on his next book in the Gathering of Words series, A Scattering of Memories.

A GATHERING OF WORDS - A TRAIN OF THOUGHT
Forty Years Workin’ on the Railroad
by Terry Beck
---
When he signed on with the railroad in 1971, college boy Terry Beck wasn’t looking for anything beyond a summer job. Instead, he found his place in a time-honored lineage of railroaders that some think may have been the last of a disappearing breed. Once he figured out he needed to buy a bag and keep it packed, his adventures began and continued nearly 40 years.

A GATHERING OF WORDS - A TRAIN OF THOUGHT captures memories of an earlier time on the glorious Santa Fe Railroad. Besides his own exploits and lessons, the book is filled with recollections of some of the rich and colorful characters he encountered, including tributes to beloved mentors and colleagues. Additionally, Terry Beck recounts memorable stories that have been handed down by the people he worked with, some of which might even be true!

With the railroad having been a major employer in so many cities and towns for decades, there remains a strong camaraderie amongst railroaders and their families throughout Texas and the entire country. A GATHERING OF WORDS - A TRAIN OF THOUGHT will bring warm memories, smiles, laughter and even a tear or two as readers travel the rails with Terry.
